Trichocereus Pachanoi

San Pedro Cacti are native to the high Andes. They are a very hardy and easy to grow columnar cactus, often growing a foot per year and reaching heights of over 15 feet (40 feet has been recorded). It is ribbed , with usually 6 to 8 ribs. It is a branching cactus and often has many side arms.

Trichocereus pachanoi (San Pedro Cactus) is the most common and well known of the Trichocereus. San Pedro Cactus was suposedly named after Saint Peter because it was, like Peter, thought to hold the keys to heaven. San Pedro Cactus has been known and used ceremonily for over 3000 years and there is evidence to suggest cultivation in Peru from 2200 B.C.

Trichocereus Bridgesii

Trichocereus bridgesii is known as Achuma in Bolivia where it is grown both as a hedge plant and placed on top of walls as protection for gardens. It is a fast-growing columnar cactus grows 5 meters high, branching at the base.  In La Paz Trichocereus bridgesii was traditionally used as a sacrament by the Indians. This unique and stunning cactus has grown to become our favorite Trichocereus species for it's character and spirit, and of course its formidable drooping four-inch-long spines.

Trichocereus 'Huasca' hybrid

CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK!!

These hybrids are branching out like crazy with new pups. Our highly aesthetic hybrids are proud to have come from a strong genetic heritage. The translucent yellow spines only compliment the gorgeous red flowers that bloom in more abundance than any other Trichocereus species.

Trichocereus brevispinulosus

Trichocereus brevispinulosus is a beautiful Trichocereus cactus.  Not seen very often.  We think that most all of the Trichocereus brevisinulosus in the US today are decended from a couple of cacti brought from S.America in 1983 by Karl Knize.

We have heard rumors that these rare cactus are very intelligent. We dont know about that,  but Trichocereus brevispinulosus are definately interesting and lovely.

Trichocereus macrogonus

CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK!!

Trichocereus macrogonus. " Big Mac ". Incredibly huge fast growning Tricos. With all those amazing beautiful characteristics of Peruvian highland cacti. The deep aqua marine hue, the amazing diameter and heft. Growing so fast that 2 feet per year is common , sometimes splitting their own skin.  Uncommon in collections but so true in character to the illusive "mystery" peruvianus that macrogonus are sure to become one of the most desirable of the Trichos.

Trichocereus peruvianus (KK242 Variety)

The Peruvian Torch Cactus is a close relative of the San Pedro Cactus. It is a columnar cactus found almost exclusively in Peru at altitudes of around 2,000 meters. Peruvian Torch is especially fast growing and hardy, often growing a foot or two each year and growing over 15-feet tall.  It is more desirable for the collector than the common San Pedro.

Trichocereus spachianus

This is impressive to look at--covered with thousand of small spines.

Trichocereus terscheckii

Trichocereus terscheckii are the heavyweight champs of the Trichocereus; huge and solid.  Trichocereus terscheckii grow to an astonishing 30 + feet (a Trichocereus in Saguaro clothing). In fact, the Trichocereus terscheckii are sometimes called "Argentine Saguaro".
