Salvia Divinorum Non-Standardized Extracts
These are our non-standardized Salvia Divinorum enhanced leaf extracts. We offer 5X, 10X, 15X, and 20X non-standardized extracts. Our extracts are produced with high quality, chemical free, Oaxacan grown leaves, which have been tested by an independent lab to contain 3.72mg Salvinorin A per gram of raw leaf. Additionally, our non-standardized extracts are made using food grade ethanol rather than hardware store grade acetone!
Typically, non-standardized extracts (shown above) are darker, heavier, contain more tars and fats, and have a thicker and heavier aroma than our standardized extracts. These extracts are measured in terms of how potent they are compared to our raw leaf. For example, a 5X non-standardized extract is made by concentrating 5 grams of raw leaf onto 1 gram of enhanced leaf. Likewise, our 20X non-standardized extract is made by concentrating 20 grams of raw leaf onto 1 gram of enhanced leaf. Non-standardized extracts differ from our standardized extracts in that our standardized extracts are made by supplementing raw leaf with a known amount of pure Salvinorin A. The standardized extracts are lighter in color and weight, have a much lighter aroma and leave little residue behind in your incense burner.
Salvia divinorum is one of about 2,000 varieties of sage. Although it has been known and used for centuries by the Mazatec Indians, the use was concentrated in a small area in the Oaxacan Mountains and wasn't known outside of its extremely limited range until a Gordon Wasson-Albert Hoffman expedition in 1962.
Salvia divinorum was highly esteemed by the Mazatecs and was believed to be a magical herb. It was used for everything from healing the sick to ceremonially induced visionary states for religion.
