As usual, Washington has produced an incredible stock of extremely high quality premium Amanitas this year! These specimens have a perfectly preserved robust red color and were professionally dried. 100% caps, no stems. These are the nicest specimens that we have ever encountered. Perfect for the mycologist who wants to show perfectly preserved Amanita muscarias during a presentation. A real eye opener!

Latvian Grade A

Another very high quality choice for dried Amanita muscaria specimens. Harvested in Latvian forests. All caps, no stems.

Eastern European Grade A

Our Eastern European Amanita muscaria mushrooms are very nice specimens with good color and excellent smell. Premium-quality caps. No stems.

Siberian Grade A

These Grade A Amanita muscaria mushrooms were harvested in the mountains across Siberia. Beautiful vivid red/orange in color. Excellent quality specimens.

Oregon State Grade A

These premium Amanita muscaria mushrooms are harvested in Oregon. Slightly less amazing than the Washington State A+ grade mushrooms, but they are grade A nonetheless. These are a great value!

Grade B Biological Specimens

A/B European Caps And Stems

These are mixed A and B grade caps with stems harvested from Europe. These are the typical Amanita specimens that are commonly sold as "Grade A" elsewhere. These are not poor quality by any means. They are perfectly for the mycology student who does not want to spend $30 on the top grade biological identification sample. These mushrooms are well preserved and are still very good samples. One would have no problem correctly identifying Amanita muscaria's in the wild using these specimens as refference samples.

Grade C/D Biological Specimens

Siberian Amanita muscaria. Low to Mid-Grade Amanitas. Broken, faded or discolored caps with a lot of stems. Still an excellent value for the researcher who is not concerned with aesthetics.

We have a fresh shipment of BEAUTIFUL Indian Warrior specimens harvested May 15th 2008! This is the freshest Indian Warrior available. Grown on a private farm, without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Since Pedicularis is a hemi-parasitic plant, meaning that it draws nutrients and alkaloids from surrounding plants, our growers have made sure that these were not grown in the vicinity of toxic plants such as aconite or poison oak. Wildcrafted Pedicularis can be dangerous due to its ability to absorb the alkaloids from surrounding plants and even toxins in the soil! These specimens are of extremely high quality, with robust colors, and potent aroma. Expertly harvested, professionally dried, and perfectly preserved. This is a little known plant is said to have sedative and nervine properties that surpass valerian! Many species of Pedicularis are known for their muscle relaxant, and pain relieving qualities. It is purported that the Pedicularis family of plants are being employed in many legal smoking blends on the market including Spice Gold. This is a 10:1 extract. Salvia Nermorosa Var. May Nights Flower Spikes

Flowering tops only- no foliage!! Reputed to contain compounds that are worthy of research. This is the desirable "May Nights" variety. I have an extremely limited amount of this material that was freshly harvested from greenhouse grown plants in May. When its gone, its gone.

Mystic spires is a new hybrid which is a dwarf version of the popular Indigo Spires. This is a plant that has very limited research as to its constituents and medicinal potential! Anemopsis californica (Yerba Mansa) 5X Extract

Recently there has been some talk about Yerba Mansa as it is becoming extremely popular in the South Western United States. It has been the focus of a lot of attention lately at research institutions in New Mexico. The herb is said to be very calming, and was employed by several Native American Indians for toothaches, pain, and infections. It is currently an 'at-risk' plant that is quickly losing its native habitat due to continued land development in the areas that it naturally grows. Our Yerba Mansa comes from private farms in New Mexico! Orally, yerba mansa is said to be used for cancer; catarrh; common cold; cough; gastrointestinal disturbances; orthopedic, skin, and throat ailments; tuberculosis; venereal diseases; and women's ailments. It is also used orally as an analgesic, disinfectant, emetic, laxative, tonic, and to induce sweating. Contains methyleugenol, a compound worthy of study.

Coleus Forskohlii Root 5X Extract

Coleus forskohlii is a perennial member of the mint, or Lamiaceae, family that was first discovered in the lower elevations of India. It is now grown around the world as an ornamental plant. The root is used for a myriad of medicinal purposes. As recorded in ancient Sanskrit texts, coleus has been used as a medical herb to treat heart and lung diseases, intestinal spasms, insomnia, and convulsions. Contains Forskolin, a compound worthy of study!

Viscum album (Mistletoe) 5X Extract 

Reputed to raise the levels of endorphins in the body! Mistletoe extracts are now FDA approved for combating certain types of cancer. Certainly more research ought to be performed on mistletoe and its compounds for its uses in treating cancer and pain! Mistletoe is a parasitic plant and grows on young branches of deciduous host trees, such as firs, ash, apple, hawthorne and oak. As a true parasite, it assumes the varied nutrients acquired from the host plant; at no time does it receive its nourishment from the soil. The plant is propagated in seeds carried by birds and cannot be cultivated from the soil. One of the earliest writers to discuss the use of Mistletoe in medicine was the Roman naturalist Celsus (53 B.C.- 7 A.D.) in his work, De medicina, which is one part of a six-part encyclopedia and considered a comprehensive look at medicine during ancient Roman times. Mistletoe has been used in herbal medicine since ancient times and was considered sacred to the Druids who went forth in white robes to collect it (particularly revering the oak-grown plant) and cutting it with great ceremony, using a golden sickle. Pliny the Elder, a Roman scholar, described one of the Druids’ most important rituals in his Natural History, written in 77 A.D. Since oak was the most sacred of trees to the Druids, the Mistletoe that grew on this tree was the most sacred of plants because it was believed to have come directly from God. The mysterious Druids believed that Mistletoe protected its possessor from all evils, especially regarding Mistletoe from the oak trees to be superior and providing them with many wonderful cures, including remedies for sterility, epilepsy and as an antidote for poisons. The Druids were not the only people to use Mistletoe for its fertility-enhancing properties: Across the world Mistletoe has been associated with the concept of fertility, perhaps because of its growth outside of the typical harvest season of other fruiting plants. There are many legends surrounding Mistletoe, and it became embedded in European rituals, folklore and folk medicine.

Lagochilus inebrians (Inebriating Mint) has long been used for its intoxicating and sedative properties by Tajik, Tartar, Turkoman, and Uzbek tribesman and ancient Central Asian tribes. Lagochilus inebrians was traditionally consumed as a delicious tea during mysteries, feasts and holidays. Unfortunately there are few places where Lagochilus naturally grows. As a result of its scarcity and strict state control, it is virtually impossible to find. Maté is a powerful stimulant and more popular in its native South America than tea or coffee (it is the national drink of Argentina!). Maté has a reputation as a nutritious tonic that not only stimulates the body (providing youthful vigor and energy), but it also stimulates the mind (promoting mental acuity and clarity). This extract is standardized to contain 20% xanthines and is VERY potent!

Nicotiana glauca (Tree Tobacco) is considered the most powerful of the Nicotiana species. Like all of the Nicotiana, it was used for many medical treatments. Today, Nicotiana glauca is being studied to be used as a treatment for nicotine addiction since it does not contain nicotine. Instead, it's active ingredient is anabasine.

Lepidium meyenii (Maca) 10X Extract

Hailed as Peruvian Ginseng, Maca Root has been used for centuries to increase vitality, promote libido, fertility and sexual performance and stamina. It is also used to relieve the symptoms of menopause and premenstrual syndrome (PMS), as well as enhance energy and strength during athletic performance. Like other cruciferous members of the cabbage family, Maca Root is credited with possessing immuno-stimulating qualities that help to build the body's defenses against invasive infection and serious disease.

Coffee Arabica (Coffee) Tree

The coffee plant is from tropical Africa, brought to Hawaii by Don Marin in 1813. The plant is important commercially for its red berries which are fermented, dried, shelled, aged, roasted, ground, and used for brewing the popular drink. Most coffee drinkers are unfamiliar with the fact that it is an easily-grown and beautiful houseplant. Our trees are 6-8" tall. They were grown from seed and took an excruciating 7 months to even sprout!

Nigella Sativa Oil

Black seed (Nigella Sativa) is currently being studied for its applications in effectively treating opiate withdrawal symptoms. It is traditionally used for treating gastrointestinal conditions including gas, colic, diarrhea, dysentery, constipation and hemorrhoids. It is also used for respiratory conditions, including asthma, allergies, cough, bronchitis, emphysema, flu and congestion. Additionally, it is used as an antihypertensive, immunoprotectant, anticancer agent, and vermifuge. It is used orally for women's health: including as a contraceptive, for stimulation of menstruation, and increasing milk flow.

In allergic conditions, black seed may have antihistamine effects. Black seed is thought to have immunoprotectant effects. Preliminary evidence suggests it may help minimize chemotherapy-induced decreases in hemoglobin and leukocyte counts. Black seed may be beneficial as an anticancer agent. According to preliminary studies, black seed may inhibit stomach tumors, carcinoma, and Ehrlich ascites carcinoma.

Black seed is reported to have been used for over 2000 years. Recordings mention it as far back as 1400 years. Black seed was found in the tomb of King Tutankhamen.

Albizia julibrissin (Silk Tree/Mimosa) Flowers 8X Extract

Extensive research has shown that the flower heads are carminative digestive sedative and tonic. They have traditionally been used for the treatment of insomnia, irritability, breathlessness, and poor memory. The flowers are harvested as they open and are dried for later use. This is an 8X extract of the flowers only!

Cordia salicifolia (Cha De Bugre) 4X and 10X Extracts

Cha de Bugre is an interesting ethnobotanical which grows in Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. It is very popular in these regions for its uses as a diet aid and general stimulant. Research on this tree is sparse, but the studies that have been conducted on it show its efficacy as a diuretic, stimulant, heart tonic, and anti-cellulite agent. The tree produces a red fruit which is similar in appearance to the coffee bean and it is used as a coffee substitute in the regions where it grows. It is commonly sold in Rio De Janeiro's beach side stands, pharmacies, and nutrition stores as a weight loss aid. A Japanese study in the 90’s demonstrated Cha de Bugre’s remarkable effect upon the Herpes virus. In the study it was shown that an extra of Cha de Bugre reduced the virus’ ability to infect healthy cells by over 99% when the cells were pre treated with a leaf extract! Not only has Cha de Bugre been proven to drastically reduce the infiltration of the Herpes virus, but another study demonstrated that it inhibited the growth of cancer cells by 40%! The plant is also utilized for healing external skin wounds thanks to the high allantoin and allantoic acid content of the leaves and branches. Further research suggests that Cha De Bugre is an effective appetite suppressant which can give one a feeling of being full after only a few morsels of food. This property combined with its metabolism boosting, stimulant, and cardio-tonic properties, makes it an excellent weight loss remedy! Come to find out, Synaptolepis kirkii contains Kirkinine, a daphnane orthoester which has potent neurotrophic activity!
